Pick your word or phrase: racism; gender inequality; poverty (and homelessness); wealth inequality. All of these are part of our national conversation. And, in many ways, they are part of many local conversations also.
For 18 years, each month I have presented synopses of business books at the First Friday Book Synopsis. And for about 10 years, each month I have presented synopses of books on issues of social justice at the Urban Engagement Book Club for CitySquare, a large nonprofit in Dallas.
I have presented many of these business books synopses within companies and organizations. But for the social justice books, there have been very few such opportunities within companies and organizations.
I think such a book club might help your group have a better social impact – to be a “better neighbor.”
Please watch this short (just over 4 minute) video. And, if you are interested in discussing this possibility, send me an email.
So which company will become the leader and become a better corporate neighbor with a social engagement book club?
