The Confidence Code and The Promise of a Pencil – Our selections for the June 6, 2014 First Friday Book Synopsis

This morning, we had a great session at the May 2 First Friday Book Synopsis. Karl Krayer presented his synopsis of Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo. Good book, especially useful for all speakers. And I presented my synopsis of the new Michael Lewis book, Flash Boys. What a provocative book about the “rigged, unfair” world surrounding the stock market(s). I’ll be posting my takeaways from this book in the next couple of days.

Next month, for the June 6 First Friday Book Synopsis, I have selected the new book by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. Their earlier book together, Womenomics , is a terrific book regarding the “women in business” arena. This new book will add additional understanding and value for all business leaders. The new book is: The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance—What Women Should Know.

(You can purchase my synopsis of their earlier book, Womenomics, with my multi-page handout + the audio of my presentation, at our companion web site, 15minutebusinessbooks.com).Womenomics Book Cover

And Karl Krayer will present his synopsis of The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change by Adam Braun.

You will be able to register soon for our June event through this web site. Mark your calendar now, and plan to join us for another morning of learning and conversation.
