Coming for our Dec. 4 First Friday Book Synopsis – Extreme Ownership (leadership insight from the Navy SEALs), and Simple Rules

We had a wonderful session last Friday at the November First Friday Book Synopsis. Charlotte Hudgin, our guest presenter in Karl’s absence, presented the Creativity, Inc. by Ed Catmull, and I presented Leadership BS by Jeffrey Pfeffer. (I will post my lessons and takeaways soon from that book).

We have selected two good and useful books for our next session, the December 4 First Friday Book Synopsis.

The first is the new instant-to-the-top-of-the-best-seller-list Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. St. Martin’s Press (2015).   The other is Simple Rules: How to Thrive in a Complex World by Donald Sull and Kathleen M. Eisenhardt. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (2015).

And, we have a bonus session planned with Brisa Castillo, Associate of Acuity Systems, from 8:30-9:30: “Why Have a Selling System?” Acuity is our 2015 sponsor, and this can be a valuable session as you plan for 2016. Ther will be no additional charge for this bonus session.

If you are in the DFW area on December 4, please plan to join us. You will be able to register soon from this web site.

Here is the flier with all of the details.

And, what is the First Friday Book Synopsis?  Doug Caldwell recorded my introduction at the November 6 session.  It’s just a couple of minutes long.  Take a look.
