Here’s the New York Times Business Books Best Sellers List for April, 2016 – The Big Short is back at #1

As I post for each month this list is available, here is the latest New York Times Business Books Best Sellers list. I prefer the monthly list over other lists that are updated more frequenlty.

still the #1 best seller
still the #1 best seller

The Big Short is back at the #1 spot, making this #1 three of the first four months of 2016. There is little doubt that The Big Short is at the front of our thinking because of the movie. But, don’t kid yourself – you will learn more about the financial crisis of 2008 if you both read the book and watch the movie. I first presented a synopsis of the book The Big Short for a client gathering not too long after it was first published, and then presented my synopsis of the book at the January, 2016 First Friday Book Synopsis, after the movie came out. But, on purpose, I presented my synopsis before I saw the movie. Really good book! Really good movie!

Originals, at number two on this month’s list, is the book I presented yesterday at the April First Friday Book Synopsis. (It was #1 on the March NY Times list). I have also presented synopses of Outliers, The Power of Habit, and Extreme Ownership from this month’s list at the First Friday Book Synopsis – all books I can highly recommend.

(I am presenting the new book by Charles Duhigg, the author of The Power of Habit, at the May First Friday Book Synopsis. It is titled: Smarter; Faster; Better. I suspect it will arrive on the best sellers list soon).

And my colleague Karl Krayer has presented his synopsis of Thinking, Fast and Slow at our monthly event. It too is aThinking, F&S long-lasting best seller.

There are a couple on this month’s list that we have not presented that really interest me, and we’ll be considering them for future months.
