What do you wish you knew how to do that you don’t know how to do?
I don’t know about your list, but mine is long. There are so many things that I wish I knew how to do; or, at least, how to do better.
I’ve decided to “hire it done” for some of those tasks/skills. But there are other tasks that you just can’t quite pay someone to do for you…
This is a problem for those who want to be consultants. A good consultant can hire some things out, but to be a good consultant, you really do need to know some things… like, how to be a consultant. How to set up, and run, a consulting practice.
Well, if you are in DFW area, I’ve got a strong recommendation. At our March First Friday Book Synopsis, we had a monthly sponsor. The sponsor was this special program provided by the local chapter of IMC (Institute of Management Consultants). I know the folks running this, and they know consulting. So, if you are a consultant, or especially an aspiring consultant, check this out:
Here’s the program description and details:
Thinking about starting a consulting practice? Will it be your dream job or worst nightmare? What skills are required? What support is available? How can you leverage your experience and create a successful business?
